The goal to enter colleges and universities is for study of the higher understanding about one specific area related to students future. And be added also with the supplement of other necessary courses on what students think relevant to strengthening their better knowledge for analyzing the world, they will become a more highly educated person than before.

However, this world with lots of technological advancements and newly invented human organization mechanisms changes very fast. Students studying only in one country might not provide enough real-time observation and appraising ability to adapt to the world empirically much well. So if possible, some people suggest them go abroad to a foreign country to learn things that domestic environment can’t afford.  

Actually, study is the key. Although we know that going abroad for study can bring new experiences of acclimating a foreign school and surviving unfamiliarity, it is surely better and efficient to have all these both advantages just in domestic universities and colleges.

After all, to study well usually needs the habitual circumstances that can support one’s daily endeavor for learning easily well.

To be in domestic environment, practically, making friends with a foreigner, attend an international school club, or to work in some organization being with a lot of foreigners all can help a college or university student to absorb the international understanding and experiences.

Besides, by these kinds of activities, students may be more immersed in some specific dimensions that going abroad won’t follow, that is the systematic immersion in the foreigners daily interaction tempo on all things being easily related to them.

And it can surely enrich their intimacy with the international society much more when compared to the too much courteously distant from others in a foreign unintimate environment.

To require students of colleges and universities having overseas study experiences may be a good suggestion if students really have enough time, money and concentration. However, the pivotal factor to define its competence, I think it should not rely on opinions other than studying effectively and efficiently.

As a result, I do not recommend all universities and colleges require their students to study in a foreign country for at least one semester.

And further, if possible, colleges and universities consider one education program is a must for its students, to be accountable, they need to plan and design such a project to fully satisfy their students on campus, but not ambiguously rely on overseas training for their students.

If study is the key but not the place, then to hold the key much better is enough.
